Westminster updates - January ‘26
Over the past month in Westminster, I:
- Held an adjournment debate on the proposal for an eastern entrance for Bletchley Station. I made clear in the chamber that that the eastern entrance is critical to unlocking the regeneration of Bletchley town centre.
- Spoke in the House of Commons on the Warm Homes Plan, Arctic security, UK-EU relations and financial regulation.
- Alongside Emily Darlington MP and Chris Curtis MP, I had a productive meeting with Karin Smyth MP (Minister of State for Health - Secondary Care). We focused on progress with the New Hospital Programme, and together we are determined to deliver a new hospital for Milton Keynes as quickly as possible.
- Celebrated with Al Carns MP (Minister for Armed Forces) the passing of the second reading of the Armed Forces Bill 2026.
- Received answers to written questions on water efficiency and resilience in Buckinghamshire, scaling up access to overseas trade for local small businesses, improving life outcomes for men in Buckingham and Bletchley – and more.
- Signed the Holocaust Memorial Trust’s Book of Remembrance and met with the Jewish Leadership Council. As a Member of Parliament, I am committed to making sure the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
- Held a frank conversation with Sadia Moeed, Area Director for East Anglia - West at the Environment Agency (her remit includes our Buckingham and Bletchley constituency) – on long term flood defences. I appreciated her time and her willingness to work with our local communities.
- Took part in the APPG on financial markets and services, a roundtable on new research modelling a ‘pension health check’, contributed to a meeting with the OBR and the fiscal framework - among others
