Constituency updates - February ‘26

What I’ve been up to in the constituency this month

🤝 Meet Your MP – Bletchley & Buckingham – Held two Meet Your MP events at Tesco stores in Bletchley and Buckingham, plus a village hall event in Padbury. Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat – we covered everything from local issues to concerns about children and social media. I also continued my regular constituency surgeries across our patch.

🏢 FirstPort Residents Meeting – Brought together FirstPort and local residents to address concerns about management fees, continuing the pressure many of us have applied in Parliament.

🏛️ Local Councils & Parish Engagement – Held regular meetings with Buckinghamshire Council and Milton Keynes City Council (including discussions on the Brunel Centre), convened a session for parish councils, and visited Leckhampstead Parish Council to talk rural issues.

🎓 National Apprenticeship Week – Met a group of fantastic apprentices at Buckingham University to discuss how we can better support and skill up 16–21 year olds.

🍷 Buckingham Food Fair & Supporting Local Businesses – Stopped by the Buckingham Food Fair at the Community Centre (and picked up a bottle from Chafor Wine Estate!). Also enjoyed supporting brilliant independents including lunch at the Betsey Wynne and a coffee at Café Mediterraneo Bar.

🍲 The Crown, Gawcott – Enjoyed a great lunch at The Crown (the tomato soup was top-notch!) and, most importantly, met with landlord Jyoti to discuss the pressures facing small village pubs. I’ll be raising her concerns with Government ministers.

🏅 Mayor’s Civic Reception – Stadium MK – Attended the Mayor’s Civic Reception and Awards at Stadium MK. Inspiring to see so many charities, volunteers and businesses celebrated. A proud stat: Milton Keynes has more volunteers per capita than anywhere else in the UK!

👮 Thames Valley Police – Winslow – Joined Ian Carter and Matt Holman from the Winslow & District Neighbourhood Policing Team for part of their evening shift. A real insight into the dedication of officers serving our towns and villages.

🤝 Supporting Our Charities – Met with the Clare Foundation alongside Emma Reynolds MP and Laura Kyrke-Smith MP to discuss how we can help Buckinghamshire’s third sector thrive.

🥊 Buckingham Boxing Club – Visited Lee, Ray and Carl at Buckingham Boxing Club on the Industrial Estate. Incredible progress in just 18 months – fantastic facilities and even better community spirit.

🌙 Community Iftar – Bletchley – Attended the third Community Iftar hosted by Bletchley Fenny Stratford Town Council at the Palatial Hall on Queensway. Ramadan is a special time for many across our community, bringing people together in reflection and generosity.

🏫 Sir Thomas Fremantle School – Thank you to Jack, Henry and Sasha for the tour – and to staff for discussing how we can ensure every pupil has the opportunity to thrive.

🧠 Mind BLMK Crisis Café – Had a thoughtful meeting with Damien at the Mind BLMK Crisis Café on Queensway about the importance of accessible, community-based mental health support.

📚 Winslow Big Society Group – Joined the Dementia Friendly Memories Group at Winslow Community Library. With over 130 volunteers, they do extraordinary work promoting inclusion, supporting wellbeing and strengthening community life. I will do my best at home and in Westminster to advocate for better dementia provision.

🛠️ Bletchley Men in Sheds – Visited West Bletchley Shed to hear about their fantastic community projects, from building mud kitchens for special schools to supporting socially prescribed referrals through the Bletchley Pathway Project.

🚜 Bucks Rural Summit & Flooding Issues – Welcomed Emma Reynolds MP and Laura Kyrke Smith MP to the constituency for a Bucks Rural Summit. Also met local farmers in Tingewick and Adstock to discuss rural challenges – including flooding, which I know is a huge issue in North Bucks.

🤖 Milton Keynes Business Summit – Spoke about the AI Growth Zone programme, the Oxford–Cambridge Corridor, the New Towns Taskforce and the devolution agenda to dozens of local businesses.

💼 TruVGroup – Met with local business TruV, based in the same office block as my constituency office. Their workforce tech platform is helping organisations streamline and automate recruitment processes.

📦 DS Smith Packaging – Visited the Milton Keynes site on Anderson Gate. Over 40,000 pallets of boxes leave the site each month – they’re a vital employer locally and a business committed to efficiency and sustainability.

🦺 Hazchem Safety Ltd – Popped by Hazchem Safety on the Buckingham Industrial Estate. Founded in 1978, they’re now a leading UK supplier of workwear, PPE and ADR equipment. Thank you to Marlon and Vinny for the warm welcome.

☀️ Gawcott Fields Community Solar – Visited the community solar project generating renewable energy since 2016 – and reinvesting surplus income into local environmental and community initiatives.

🎳 Chandos Park Bowls Club – Met with John and Bob, Chair and Secretary of Chandos Park Bowls Club in Buckingham. A fascinating history and a club that continues to make a big contribution to local civic life (alongside Buckingham West End Bowls Club!).

St Michael & All Angels, Stewkley – Toured this remarkable Norman church (built in 1150!) with Rector Dominic Wright. A beautiful and historic building at the heart of village life.
