Westminster updates - February ‘26

Over the past month in Westminster, I:

  • Met with local apprentices from the automotive industry to hear about their experiences and the opportunities and challenges facing people entering the workforce. An absolute privilege to show them around.

  • Received answers to written questions on local NHS appointments, UK-US trade, improving foster care, and other issues affecting constituents.

  • Spoke in the House of Commons on access to dental services. This is an issue I have received a significant amount of casework on locally and one I will continue to push the Government to address.

  • Voted in favour of removing the two-child limit and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Continued to support the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology in my role as Parliamentary Private Secretary, including during a debate on a motion on improving mobile connectivity in rural areas.

  • Met with the CEO of Propelle, alongside representatives from Citibank and Winterflood, to discuss financial inclusion and retail investment — two issues I care about and have expertise on.

  • Met with Dementia UK and Great British Energy to discuss their work and how we can better support local communities.

  • Met with Bridget Phillipson, where I raised the issue of local SEND provision and the importance of ensuring children and families receive the support they need.
