Westminster updates - February ‘26
Over the past month in Westminster, I:
Met with local apprentices from the automotive industry to hear about their experiences and the opportunities and challenges facing people entering the workforce. An absolute privilege to show them around.
Received answers to written questions on local NHS appointments, UK-US trade, improving foster care, and other issues affecting constituents.
Spoke in the House of Commons on access to dental services. This is an issue I have received a significant amount of casework on locally and one I will continue to push the Government to address.
Voted in favour of removing the two-child limit and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Continued to support the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology in my role as Parliamentary Private Secretary, including during a debate on a motion on improving mobile connectivity in rural areas.
Met with the CEO of Propelle, alongside representatives from Citibank and Winterflood, to discuss financial inclusion and retail investment — two issues I care about and have expertise on.
Met with Dementia UK and Great British Energy to discuss their work and how we can better support local communities.
Met with Bridget Phillipson, where I raised the issue of local SEND provision and the importance of ensuring children and families receive the support they need.
