Constituency updates - January ‘26
What I’ve been up to in the constituency this month
🤝 Meet Your MP – Maids Moreton – Hosted a well-attended Meet Your MP event. Thanks to everyone who came along – it was great to hear directly from residents.
🥫 MK Food Bank – Visited MK Food Bank and heard that January donations are lower than usual. If you’re able to donate, please do – support is really needed at this time of year.
🏘️ Buckingham Town Council & Neighbourhood Plan – Met with Buckingham Town Council following their town plan referendum. Huge thanks to councillors and officers for the enormous amount of work that’s gone into getting this plan right.
📅 Constituency Surgeries – Held regular surgeries in Buckingham and Winslow, listening to residents’ concerns and offering support where I can.
🎒 School Councils Visits – Spoke with school councillors at Newton Leys Primary School and Holne Chase Primary School. I was really impressed by their thoughtful, well-informed questions – from Parliament to playtimes!
🏫 North Marston School Visit – Popped into North Marston School, where Headteacher Sarah Brew is leading a fantastic community school. That spirit really shines through in the staff and the curiosity of the pupils.
🎖️ Minister for Veterans Visit – Welcomed the Minister for Veterans, Louise Sandher-Jones MP, to Milton Keynes University Hospital to see first-hand how our city supports veterans, the armed forces and their families.
🏡 Quainton Parish Council – Had a highly constructive meeting with Cllr Ben Harris, Chair of Quainton Parish Council, to discuss a range of local issues affecting the community.
🚒 Fire Brigades Union – Met with Buckinghamshire Fire Brigades Union representatives to discuss ongoing fire service provision across the county.
🎓 Educational Wealth Fund – Met with the Educational Wealth Fund to hear more about their pilot project at Sir Herbert Leon Academy.
🛠️ Buckingham Men in Sheds – Visited Buckingham Men in Sheds and learned more about their brilliant work bringing people together, tackling loneliness, and supporting wellbeing. I’m pleased to see this reflected in the government’s new men and boys strategy.
⚖️ Equitable Life Scandal – Met with local victims of the Equitable Life scandal and committed to following up on their complaints and concerns.
🤍 MK Christian Foundation – Visited MK Christian Foundation, whose work supports people of all faiths and none, celebrating diversity and strengthening our community.
💼 Buckinghamshire Business First – Contributed to a local meeting with members, valuing the chance to speak directly with business owners – particularly about boosting productivity in our economy.
📈 Regional Investment & Growth – Met with the BVCA alongside Chris Curtis MP to discuss regional investment and how it aligns with the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor.
🚚 DHL Tattenhoe Visit – Visited the DHL distribution centre in Tattenhoe to see how the business, alongside the government’s industrial strategy, can support jobs and growth in our regional economy.
