Westminster updates - April ‘26
Over the past month in Westminster, I:
Hosted a parliamentary reception for the East West Railway Company, led by David Hughes (Chief Executive Officer) and Neil Sachdev (Chair), to mark the launch of their latest consultation. In my remarks, I stressed once again the importance of getting passenger services between Oxford and Bletchley running as soon as possible, and urged the Department for Transport, Chiltern Railways, unions and other rail partners to work together to make this happen.
Attended a range of meetings and events, including the Thames Valley APPG, the launch of the London Stock Exchange’s retail investment forum and a session hosted by Minister Kinnock on regional health hubs.
Continued my work and ministerial duties in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
Met students from Lord Grey School at the final of the Milton Keynes Schools Debate in Parliament. A huge thank you to every school that participated throughout the competition, as well as those who joined us for a tour of Westminster.
It was a real pleasure to meet Bolu from MK College and invite her to the Women in Tech reception in Parliament. Bolu has already achieved some remarkable things, including competing in the European Robotics League, and she is a brilliant example of the talent we have here in our community.
