Constituency updates - September/October ‘25
Over the past month in the constituency, I:
🍚 Went to experience the brilliant school lunches at Abbeys primary. Here’s a video of my visit.
⚽ Welcomed Lisa Nandy to Bletchley Scot. Click here to watch a clip and find out more about new investment into grassroots sport.
👂 Held three fully booked constituency surgeries in Buckingham, Bletchley and Winslow.
🗣️ Gave a keynote address at MK Tech Week and spoke to tech leaders at a NatWest meeting. It was great to see the event grow, with so many events taking place at Bletchley Park.
🗨️ (Continuing with MK Tech Week) took part in a stakeholder roundtable on the Oxford-Cambridge Growth corridor and caught up with Sally Alexander and MK College.
🗝️ Had the pleasure of going to Dean Lewington’s Freedom of the City. What an absolute legend. He has contributed so much to Milton Keynes!
✂️ Participated in the Ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Melrose Avenue Post Office.
⛪ Attended the Annual Civic Service with the Mayor of Milton Keynes and representatives from many of our city’s faith communities and civil society groups.
👨🌾 Celebrated 100 years of the village hall in Stewkley and visited their memorial gardens.
🍧 Met with Reverend Ben Thorpe at Great Gelato (don’t judge - I had a hot chocolate instead of an ice cream…)
➗ Spoke with maths teachers from across our patch at an INSET day at Lord Grey Academy on a shared vision for the future of maths education in the region.
🛣️ Met with Buckingham Town Council regarding their neighbourhood plan, and Milton Keynes City Council on the Town Deal. It’s great that work is underway in Fenny Stratford and Aylesbury Street, and progress is being made in Queensway too.
💹 Convened the second meeting of the Bletchley Investment Taskforce. More information on the Taskforce can be found here.
📻 Met with the Radio Society of Great Britain and appeared on 3Bs Radio and Milton Keynes University Hospital Radio – you can listen to my full interview with Jeff Drake here.
🗨️ Spoke with local charity sector representatives at meeting convened by the MK Community Foundation.
🏭 Stopped by the Sugarich factory in Westbury and have followed up on their policy suggestions with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
❣️ Met with local Kinship Carers who do amazing and tireless work. The three Milton Keynes MPs are looking to arrange another broader kinship care meeting in the upcoming months.
🏘️ Held really productive conversations with the Lakes Estate Residential Association, and with local Parish Clerks and Councillors. A future programme of engagement is currently being drafted by my team.
🐦⬛ Bought a brand-new birdfeeder at the Buckingham craft and gift fair (last but not least…!)
