Backing independent businesses

I hope you’re enjoying the wonderful weather! It certainly made my weekend visiting various VE Day events extra special, and it was great to pop by and visit the Buckingham Banking Hub with Emma Reynolds MP too.

This week really reminded me of how proud I am to represent the towns, villages, and city that make up the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency, and I’m really looking forward to spending a lot more time locally in the next few months. To make sure that I showcase our amazing independent businesses, I’m running a short survey on where I should be eating and drinking this summer - please fill it in and spread the word.

Also - in case you missed it - planters have now been placed by the Labour-run Milton Keynes City Council in Queensway. They’re adding some colour and life to the area and are preventing pavement parking. Do check them out!

Nationally, the Prime Minister announced a new immigration system that will back British workers, boost economic growth, and control our borders. I’m proud of the diversity of our nation, but we must take a common sense approach.

As always, thank you for reading, and please get in touch if there is anything I can help you with.

Local visits

In the constituency I:

  • Visited Bletchley Park to honour our local heroes. Click here to watch a short video from me on Bletchley’s contribution to our victory in World War Two.

  • Attended VE Day celebrations in Granborough, Winslow, Newton Longville, and North Marston.

  • Took part in a ‘Meet your MP’ event in Gawcott Village Hall, answering questions on our Government’s policies, as well as my own personal motivations as an MP.

In Westminster

Back in Westminster I:

  • Supported the third reading of the Data Use and Access Bill.

  • Contributed to the All Party Parliamentary Group on flooding and flooded communities.

  • Met with Lord Vallance to discuss how to maximise the potential of the Oxford Cambridge Growth Corridor.
