Bridget stopped by!

Blimey, it’s warm! It was great to be out and about across the constituency this weekend in the sun. A big highlight was welcoming Bridget Phillipson MP to Bletchley. Here’s a short video on why she popped by Water Hall Primary, and how we are working hard to ensure that every child has the best start in life.

Another highlight last week was back in Westminster, where the Chancellor reaffirmed our Government’s commitment to East West Rail as part of the Spending Review. This train line is going to be transformational locally, and I am committed to working with every single stakeholder to make sure that local people feel its full benefit. This was something I reiterated at a session with the MK Business Council on Thursday evening. Our patch is going to be better connected than ever, and I’m so excited for all the opportunities coming our way.

Good things come in threes… Here’s a short piece on why I am pleased that the outdated Vagrancy Act is being scrapped. Instead of penalising people in crisis, we are focusing the law where it should be - on protecting communities from real harm.

As always, thank you for reading. If there is anything I can do to help you, please get in touch.

Westminster

In Westminster I:

  • Took part in a roundtable with the Association of Investment Companies on boosting people’s financial resilience.

  • Met with Young Enterprise, a charity which helps young people to succeed in the changing world of work by equipping them with the right work skills.

  • Voted in favour of the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, which aims to get Britain building and address barriers to development.
